ACCESS is participating in EclipseCon 2007 going on this week at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. ACCESS is showcasing the ACCESS Linux Platform Development Suite (SDK & Developer Tools) for ACCESS Linux Platform v1.0. The Company will also demonstrate a number of applications running on ACCESS Linux Platform.
ACCESS recently announced that the Product Development Kit (PDK) for ACCESS Linux Platform is now available to licensees. The Company has also launched their Early ACCESS Program for qualified third party developers interested in being first to market using the ACCESS Linux Platform Development Suite and Garnet VM Compatibility Kit.
Eclipse is the foundation of a powerful set of new development tools delivered in the ACCESS Linux Platform Development Suite. The Eclipse IDE, along with the C Developer’s Toolkit (CDT), has been augmented by ACCESS to work closely with the ACCESS Linux Platform Simulator for application deployment and source-level debugging. Eclipse works with a custom version of the Glade open source GUI utility, allowing application UIs to be simply constructed. ACCESS Systems Americas, Inc. (formerly PalmSource, Inc.) is an Add-in Provider to the Eclipse Foundation and an active participant in the development of the Eclipse ecosystem.
“We are committed to providing developers with a comprehensive software development suite that enables them to develop and deliver exciting and innovative new mobile applications,” said Larry Berkin, senior director developer ecosystem & technology acquisition for ACCESS Systems Americas, Inc. “Because it includes three runtime environments, ACCESS Linux Platform represents an attractive opportunity for third party developers. Developers can create applications that are ACCESS Linux Platform native, Garnet™ OS (previously known as Palm OS®) native or Java native. No other platform can do this.”
