Android Mobile Linux SDK Released

Google has publicly released a preview of its Android SDK for developers. It includes features the Linux Kernel, low level libraries such as FreeType, OpenGL, SQL Lite, WebKit (web browser) and a custom Java Bytecode interpreter that is highly specialized for the CPU. The Android SDK is based on Eclipse and supports Windows XP/Vista, Mac OS and Linux versions.
To spur application development Google is promoting a Android Developer Challenge, which will provide $10 million in awards for what is deems as great mobile apps built on the Android platform.
Google has also posted a series of videos that demonstrate Android in action as well as building apps using the SDK tools.
