Bitfrost: the OLPC security model

The One Laptop Per Child project has posted the first draft of the Bitfrost security model, which is intended to keep the laptops secure once they are sent to the target countries. They have made some interesting decisions; an OLPC will look quite different from a standard desktop system. This article (LWN subscribers only) looks at the Bitfrost specification and how it is expected to keep OLPC systems under the control of their owners.
